A Juried Exhibition Celebrating LGBTQ+ Creative Expression

The Petersburg Area Art League invites LGBTQ+ artists and allies to submit work for Call for Queer Art, a juried exhibition centered on identity, visibility, resistance, joy, and lived experience within queer communities.

Hosted at Petersburg Area Art League, this exhibition creates space for work that reflects the complexity and diversity of queer life across mediums, perspectives, and artistic practices.

Exhibition Focus

Submissions are welcome across a range of interpretations, including identity, chosen family, embodiment, memory, activism, transformation, and everyday queer experience. Work may be personal, political, abstract, or narrative driven.

This is not a single-definition show. It is a space for range, nuance, and visibility.

Submission Details

Artists may submit up to three works for consideration.

• $20 — One artwork submission

• $30 — Up to three artworks

PAAL members receive a 50% discount on submission fees.

Eligible mediums include painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, works on paper, and other visual art forms.
