DREAMING THE MIRACLE: An Interdisciplinary Creative Writing Workshop led by A. Logan Hill, consists of writing exercises and workshop discussions centering around the methods of making to include "ekphrasis" & "incongruous compatibility" as a means for world building in addition to writing through and about dreams (real or imagined). Readings will consist of a wide range of texts from writers like Rimbaud, Baudelaire, Desnos, Stein, & the OBEIRU, among others. Students will explore how to make and design broadsides, little zines, and other print related materials to include the use of vintage typewriters to create original works. Instruction will focus on creative writing and storytelling with a wide variety of outcomes to include: podcasting, video-poems, broadsides and other print media, zines and chapbooks, and collaborative dance choreography embodying the stories and poems students create. This multi-day workshop will commence in a reading and celebration of student work.
