PAAL will welcome back American artist, Charles Magistro for a free public talk on Saturday, February 28 at 1 PM. Magistro will share the story of his six-week residency in Pablo Picasso’s former Paris studio, where a humorous moment at the Louvre inspired a series of mandrill paintings; a vivid visual diary now exhibited for the first time.
Known for abstract self-portraits, imagined landscapes, and sculpture rooted in his Sicilian heritage, Magistro explores creativity as a continuous act of reinvention.
This talk offers a rare opportunity to hear how one artist’s journey from Paris to Petersburg shaped an extraordinary body of work and led to its unveiling at Petersburg Area Art League.
