PAAL accepts exhibit proposals from regional artists and curators; the deadline is ongoing. PAAL also occasionally has a call for artists.

Exhibit Proposals

All traditional media are considered. Video, multi-media, and installations are encouraged, but must fit the available space. Curatorial proposals may include work in any media, but must be organized around a theme, concept, material or technique.

To be considered for an exhibition, please submit:

Digital Images: 10 to 15 images in JPEG format no larger than 2000 pixels in any direction on a CD. The work should be no more than three years old and representative of the work to be exhibited. Image files should be numbered to correspond to image list and should include the artist’s last name. 3-D work may include additional detail shots. Label the CD with your name, date, and contact information.

OR

Videos: Send 3 to 5 clips lasting no more than 3-4 minutes each on a CD or DVD. In addition to the clips, you may send one complete work if longer than the 3-4 minute limit. Label the CD or DVD with your name, date, and contact information.

AND

  • A numerical listing of each JPEG image. Include artist’s name, title, medium, dimensions, date, and retail price. For video, provide a list that include the artist’s name, title, and date.
  • Resume with mailing address, phone number, email address and a link to a web-site if available.
  • Artist statement or curatorial statement.
  • Exhibition proposal.
  • Image list, resume, artist/curatorial statement, and proposal and should be provided as a hard copy and saved to the CD in PDF or Microsoft Word format (.doc).

Do not send slides or original works. Submitted materials will not be returned.

Artist must be able deliver work in person to PAAL, ready to hang. PAAL cannot store packing materials. PAAL does not supply video or computer equipment for artists at this time. 75% of the work exhibited must be for sale. PAAL charges a 30% commission on all sales.
