About
PAAL is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Our mission is to empower the community through the visual arts.
Exciting things are happening at PAAL.
PAAL is in the middle of a renaissance. Thanks in part to a grant from The Cameron Foundation, PAAL’s building at 7 E. Old St. has recently been renovated and expanded to include an Education Center.
Thanks also to the City of Petersburg, which generously donated to PAAL the lot adjoining their building, the organization is currently working to develop an open air sculpture garden for the community to enjoy.
Meanwhile, PAAL has also been busy growing its programming. This year’s Summer Art Camp served twice as many students as last year, and PAAL will soon launch an after-school art education program for youth in partnership with the YMCA. PAAL is also increasing the number and diversity of classes for adults and youth alike, while continuing to provide monthly exhibits that offer the community high-caliber visual art as well as periodic special events designed to celebrate the visual arts.
All PAAL programming is partially supported by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
